Dr D Nageshwara Reddy is an eminent doctor from India. He is an Indian gastroenterologist and heads one of the biggest gastroenterology hospitals in the world. Dr. Nageshwara Reddy is the Chairman and founder of the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) at Hyderabad. Dr. Reddy has been the recipient of prestigious Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan in the year 2002 and 2016 respectively. A third-gen doctor of the family, Dr. Reddy has been recognized for his achievements by several medical societies. He ensured low-cost treatment and a world-class facility at AIG. After completing his education at Kurnool Medical College, he continued his research on G.I. Endoscopy particularly in Therapeutic Pancreatic Biliary Endoscopy and Innovations in Transgastric Endoscopic Surgery. He has published over 1000 papers in National & International Peer review journals. Prior to setting up AIG in 2014, Dr. Reddy worked as a Professor of Gastroenterology in Andhra Pradesh Health Sciences and even held the position of the President of the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India in 2001.
