We welcome Ms. Shalini Biju to our Learning and Development section of ANASTOMOS.

 

 

Ms. Shalini Biju completed her nursing degree in 1999 at Nanavati School of Nursing, Mumbai. With over 18 years of experience in various specialty operation theatres in the United Kingdom, she has cultivated a deep expertise in surgical nursing. During this time, she also served for two years as a Clinical Practice Facilitator (CPF), mentoring students and junior staff in theatres, facilitating learning, and assisting in the selection of post-registration student candidates for specialized courses, mentoring student nurses, and guiding junior staff to achieve their goals. 

 

Ms. Shalini Biju has been in charge of the pre-op assessment clinic for the past five years, ensuring that surgical patients are suitable for general anaesthesia in ENT and dental services.

 

Ms. Shalini Biju is an enthusiastic, ambitious, and friendly persona. Her diligence, sense of responsibility, and social skills make her unique as a mentor. 

 

Her current position requires her to work in a high-pressure environment, which has allowed her to develop effective problem-solving skills. As a healthcare professional with the ability to learn and adapt to work pressure, different employers, and diverse work settings, she can help many strike a work-life balance smartly. 

 

She has participated in numerous educational audits over the years to ensure that clinical placement areas are conducive to learning for both students and mentors.
